Our Philosophy is that animals are sentient beings and that all livestock fundamentally deserve a high quality of life and a compassionate end. We are not here to tell anyone how to live their lives; we are here to draw out the facts and allow you, the reader to come to your own conclusions about animal welfare in slaughterhouses.
We have the heartfelt belief that if livestock end up as food, it is our duty to offer the highest level of care. Welfare doesn’t end once the farmers send their livestock to the abattoir; we believe that an animal’s welfare in its final moments is extremely important. It is about concern and care from farm to fork.
We believe that with the four following reforms, we can guarantee livestock’s welfare in their final moments and in turn implement a truly humane form of slaughter.
- End non-stun slaughter
- Mandatory CCTV in all slaughterhouses.
- Improve conditions for livestock in transportation.
- Clear labelling of slaughter method on meat products.
Its important to get the message out and do your bit. Find out how you can help here.
